Mehaiarii Louis

Mehaiarii is a French student who completed his Master's degree in Organic Chemistry and Biochemistry at the University of Bordeaux. During this degree he had the opportunity to discover and work for several months on the fabrication and properties of giant unilamellar vesicles (GUVs) at the Institute of Chemistry & Biology of Membranes & Nano-objects (CBMN). Thanks to this experience, he is now involved in a doctoral project with Prof. Dr. Seraphine Wegner's team at the Institute of Physiological Chemistry and Pathobiochemistry, working on the mechanisms of molecule transport across the membranes of these synthetic cells, and more specifically on the development of a photosensitive and reversible process enabling the spatio-temporal control of molecule exchanges between the internal and external environments of GUVs.
